Found Animal PWA

Project Details

Tech: React-based Progressive Web Application

A Progressive Web App connecting people who find injured wildlife with licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Born from a hackathon and matured through months of user research and iterative design.

Research & Concept

The concept was born during a Hackathon that my team and I hosted at Allstate in 2019. We then matured it for months with the Design Hackers Guild—a weekly extracurricular club also sponsored by Allstate. I loved working on this project.

The core problem: when people find injured or orphaned wildlife, they often don’t know what to do or who to contact. Licensed wildlife rehabilitators are scattered across regions, and finding the right one quickly can be difficult—especially when time matters for the animal’s survival.

Information Architecture

We designed a flow that helps people identify the animal, understand its condition, and connect with the nearest appropriate rehabilitator.

User Flows

The app guides users through a series of questions to determine the animal’s species, condition, and needs—then matches them with rehabilitators who can help.

Design & Critique

The design process involved multiple rounds of critique and iteration, focusing on clarity, urgency, and ease of use. The interface needed to work quickly for people who might be stressed or in unfamiliar situations.
